Most of you know from past posts that I’ve struggled with my skin. I’ve had acne since middle school and started treating it through a dermatologist in high school. Every level of angry breakouts have graced my skin, as well as rosacea, dry, flaky skin and dark spots that scar. It’s not fun to admit, but the evidence is way too obvious. I mean, it’s written all over my face.
It seems like everyone has their two cents about what products will cure acne. And while nothing actually does, I’ve been on the HUNT to gather the products that have treated my skin with the most love. (See my post on Glossier products.)
Disclaimer: These products worked for my skin but may not work for all skin types.
Together these three natural treatments have worked magic for my skin. I use them in the order listed, sometimes doing the salt scrub in the shower because you can use it all over.
So, What Are They?
- Ocean Salt is a facial and body scrub meant to help exfoliate dead skin and make everything a little more smooth.
- Tea Tree Water (ALL TIME FAV) is a spray toner that also fights bacteria that causes acne. I like to use three sprays directly onto a cotton ball and rub over my whole face. Bonus: this also helps reduce the amount of oil on my face.
- Skin Drink is a slightly thick facial moisturizer. It’s made with avocado, rose petal and aloe vera so it leaves an oily residue, that I love, but not under makeup. I typically use this only at night.
Pro tip: try your friend’s first!
Lush has sooo many products, and kinds, that it’s a little overwhelming going into the store. Unless you’re getting bath bombs because then you just need to buy them all. Luckily, my friend and little sis both use Lush religiously and let me test out the goodies they had. These are true friends: Sharing is caring.
They let you sample products in the store, too. But it’s tough for me because I want to test everything. And this makes it hard to tell what’s doing what to my skin.
My ultimate nighttime routine is to start with my Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanse and then move into my Lush babies. What’s important for my skin is that the products remain sensitive. I break out from LITERALLY anything people. It is a small miracle that these things even work for me.
Just to put it in perspective, my dermatologist here in LA is basically my therapist. Every appointment is more emotional than not because it. is. my. face. Like… raise your hand if you feel me.
So, try these products out and let me know if they work for you!!
