Hey gals and guys!
Tonight’s post is going to be about how to find a photographer fit for you. This will be one of two parts. I want to start by letting y’all know how I used to get content as a newer blogger (Part One), versus how I do it now, which will be Part Two!
Several people have recently asked me about this, and it’s something I really struggled with for years. So, I thought this might be helpful for someone out there.
Also, you can do this wether you’re a blogger, model, fitness guru, need photos for your business, etc., etc.
When I started Not Scared of the Sky almost three years ago, I had nooo idea what I was doing. My younger sister and David, my boyfriend, took all of my photos, and I was trying to edit them on photoshop via YouTube tutorials. 👎 I’ll link my very first post here so you can see the disaster that once was, lol.
When my sis or David weren’t around to help, I started asking some of my more artsy gal-friends to help me out. This was simultaneously a science experiment and us just goofing around. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of favorite shoots from these days, BUT, life has progressed.
If you’re new to blogging/doing it on a budget, friends and family that are handy with cameras are your best bet. If you can afford to pay a professional photographer, your pics are definitely going to be better quality. But sometimes this isn’t always attainable at first! It sure wasn’t for me.
I’ve said this before, but the key to good blogging is having original ideas and posting them regularly. Both are also hard things to do, but having a photographer that you feel comfortable with in the early stages is super super helpful. (I’d like to thank all my friends and David who let me peer pressure them into taking pictures of me. You are all heroes, and deserve to share in whatever success may or may not come in the future.)
Make sure to check back soon to read Part Two, to see how I go about getting quality photos now. Some of which are posted below!
